Ways to Capture Energy

The Toshiba Youth Conference made a substantial impact on my life.  When I participated, I learned just how much everyone else in the world cares about the environment.  The people who I met there inspired me to finish a project that I had started before I had left for Thailand.  My project was to build a belt that creates a current and charges an iPod when I run with it on.  I did this by using a magnet to slide through a coiled cooper that already contained a current (this creates a current).  Then I attatched the magnet to a spring that was mounted to the belt.  The purpose of the spring was to allow the magnet to move veritcally at the same frequency as my body while running.  I finally attached everything to the belt.  The last part is to build a curcuit that will charge an iPod.  When I add the curcuit with the belt, I will be able to charge an iPod from the energy I use while running.  One of the main goals of this project is to show how much energy we as humans consume.  If one can charge an iPod with the energy they use from running, what other ways are there for us to capture energy in our daily lives?
