Chaipattana Aerator
From the problem to editing
The problem of water pollution caused by people’s activities. Many water sources are polluted which can not be applied. His Majesty the King recognizes the severity of the problem. And his concern for his people that have the problem. To solve wastewater problem by using a mechanical aerator. The royal gives a form of a simple invention which is highly effective in treating wastewater. It is well known in the name of ‘Chaipattana Aerator,’ which can be used to improve water quality in every location. All around the country.
Principles and methods of work of the Chaipattana Aerator
- Aerator has 12 square which contained six pack of water pack. Each of the pack are porous.
- The gear motor rotates the pack and the pack draws water up. The water it can draw up is deep down under the surface about 0.50 meters.
- When the water pack is raised. Water will splash the water surface up to one meter above the surface area. This makes the water have more surface to contact air . So the oxygen can dissolve into the water quickly.
- Water will fall on the surface and make bubbles follow down under the water. While the pack is moving down into the water surface and press into the water below. There will be a air pressure in the water pack until it is drowned. This make oxygen transfer efficiency higher.
Optimize energy useage
Water turbine that rotates slowly with the electric motors use less than 2 horsepower or may use water flow power.
The advantages
It can make the water clean up and reduce the smell with the rate of increasing oxygen in water up to 1.2 kilograms per horsepower per hour. Animals such as soft-shelled turtle, turtles and fish can live safely. And can be treated a mass of dirt to lower the standard criteria set.
The costs and benefits
- His Royal Majesty the King has fabricated a mechanical aeration which have a cost that a local could make it by themselves.
- It can be used in activities to improve water quality with versatile and a easy installation to be used in natural water sources such as swimming pool, pond, canal, etc. marsh creek. At a depth greater than 1.00 m and a width greater than 3.00 m.
15 YEARS OF RENEWABLE ENERGY
Thailand’s ministry of energy
What is the propose?
- To make Thai use renewable energy as a primary energy resource.
- To find new way of using energy resource in Thailand.
- To support ‘Green City’ project.
- To support renewable energy industry in Thailand.
- To explore and do an experiment for renewable energy.
What is at the final stage of this policy?
Increase the amount of using renewable energy to 20% of all energy that is being used by 2022
What sources are being used in this policy?
- Natural Energy
- Solar
- Water
- Wind
-Biological Energy
- Rubbish
- Biomass
- Biological gas
-Biological fuel
- Biodiesel
- Ethanol
- NGV(Natural Gas Vehicles)
Overview of this policy
It is divided into 3 periods
1. Short period(2008-2011)
Support a renewable energy which is proven technologies and have a high potential source of energy such as biomass, biological fuel, biological gas and NGV with a support by all government might.
2. Middle period (2012-2016)
Support technology of renewable energy industry and support and develop new way of renewable energy’s technology such as biodiesel and ethanol from algae, gasoline from biomass and Hydrogen fuel to have more potential and develop a prototype of ‘Green City’ project which strengthen community to use renewable energy.
3. Long period (2017-2022)
Support new renewable energy technologies which are worth by economics and included the improvement of ‘Green City’ project.
Make Thailand to be the center of exporting biological fuel and renewable energy in South-East Asia
What will we get from this policy?
In economics way
- A reduction of cost from importing energy source more than 460,000 million baht per year or about 13,500 million dollars per year by 2565.
- Have an investment from private sector more than 382,240 million baht per year or about 11,000 million dollars per year.
- Have more employment, in the involve industry, for more than 40,000 people
- Get benefit from exchanging ‘Carbon Credit’ for more than 14,000 million baht per year or about 400 million dollars per year
- Cut the government’s investment of building a power plant which use fossil fuel for more than 100,000 million baht or about 2,940 million dollars
In social way
- It helps reducing amount of people moving into the city.
- Farmer has more income from selling plant.
In environmental way
- Thailand will be a ‘Low Carbon Society’ which will reduce carbon emission.
Does this policy affect something?
- For sure, it will affect the gasoline selling company.
- It will reduce the use of gasoline.
- It will cut down the way Thailand releasing carbon.
- It will use less fossil fuel.
- It is green and safe.
- Thai will have more job.
- And much more and more that I haven’t thought about it but it can.
