Big decision of my grandfather

My grandfather was born in the country at the foot of Mt. Fuji. People existed with growing rices, vegetables and silkworms. They hardly had any new energies. When they cook or heat a bath, they had to make a fire by firewood, strike a match. They just lived with nature.

When my father became an adult and had wife, my grandmother, he started studying about oil business. He thought that he couldn`t bring up his children well under the farmer`s condition. He decided that his family retired farming andmoved to Tokyo and started propane gas buisiness (LPG), opened a LPG store. It is today`s my home.

LPG was a new and great fuel then. The great point of LPG has three. One is the size, two is the fire`s strength, and the last point is the ease.

The size is much more compact than firewoods. Firewoods are so bulky that it need a hat for save it.  The LPG cylinder is small enough to put in the room, and we can use it longer.

The fire`s strength is different. Propane gas has much energy, so  the fire come to be very hot. Then, we can cook speedily, and we can heat a bath speedily. By the way, we can boil the rice more delicious if we use LPG, because its temperature is high.

As the last point, LPG can make fire easily. If we turn on the switchi, we can make a fire anytime. firewoods are difficult. At first, we have to strike a match and burn papers or dead leaves. And next, move fire to firewoods. If firewoods are wet, we cannot make fire.

That was what my grandfather told me for this interview. Now, our lifestyle are changing. We have to think about fuel probrems.
