My Mom's Opinion

Hello, here's some of my mom's opinions about energy consumption.

Question 1: How did people consume energy in the past and in the present?

- When I was young, electricity was not yet widespread in the country. Fire had been an important part of our daily lives. We commonly put coal on fire to boil water for drinking and bathing, and to cook a meal. Sometimes we used a stove to keep our bodies warm. Instead of light bulbs, we had gas-powered lanterns. When we wanted to go somewhere, we usually travelled by bicycle.

Question 2: What are your suggestions to economize on consuming energy?

- The first thing that people should do is to check out whether any electrical aplliances are unnecessary left on or not.

- The second is people should learn how to use equipment by reading its manual so they can use them efficiently and safely.
