My interview

I got interviews with my father, whose hometown is
〔temperature control〕
Few families have air conditioners and heaters. So everyone stood hotness and cold.
In summer, his family used a electric fan instead of air conditioner. Now, we have three electric fans, but his family had only one. At my present time of life, I don’t think that I can stand hot weather…
And in winter, they warm themselves at a kotatsu. But he told me that it had run not by electricity but by lighting charcoals.
〔refrigerator〕
Of course a refrigerator runs by electricity, at present. However, when he was a child, they chilled by ice! An ice dealer came to my farter’s house to sell ice. I’m afraid he doesn’t remember the cost. But I can’t imagine that refrigerators didn’t run by electricity! And I’m sure that it was very kind to the earth not to use electricity.
〔transportation〕
They didn’t have a car, so everyone in his family walked and took a bus when they went out. And he and his brother rode bicycles, too.
〔shopping〕
He told me that stores didn’t give customers plastic bags. Hearing this, I thought it’s really good for the earth. Customers took own baskets to the stores.
He told me the way to be kind to earth in the past. But he said that people didn’t think that it’s for the earth in the past. What they naturally did was happened to be kind to the earth, too. I learned a lot of things from this interview. From now on, I’d like to take concrete actions.
