Objectives:

Recent years have seen growing concerns that environmental change is reaching the point that may threaten our continued existence. This is one of the number one issues facing today's youth, the standard bearers of the next generation. This program will provide participants with the opportunity to look at, think about and deeply discuss environmental issues, and to develop ideas for creating a better future by working together with one another.

Theme:

“Global environmental issues for a sustainable future”

In addition, the sub theme will be determined each year.

Intended participants:

High school students and their teachers.

Goals:

The program will encourage students to deepen their awareness of environmental concerns, and take the lead in their communities in working for a better future. A week-long program and follow-up discussions through a dedicated website will provide participants from different countries and various backgrounds the opportunity to explore environmental issues faced by other communities, the opportunity to think and work together toward possible solutions, and encourage them to take action.  
The program will also seek to enhance teachers’ ability to promote environmental, scientific, and intercultural communication education.

Language:

English will be the language of the conference.
